Berlinale here we come

Last night I got an email inviting me to screen Imani at Berlinale next year! Wow wow here we go! It's sooooo exciting. Our world premiere in Berlin at THE festival. Already called mum and pals all over the place. I will tell you more as it develops. If you are in Berlin next year feb and can attend please do. Meet you there. Bring a warm coat it's gonna be cold brrrrrr :-)yeah !!!!!!

Xmas is just around the corner

So the end of the year is fast approaching. I think i should look back my achievements with my team .. we started post on IMANI in december 2008 and now I have just completed what i consider the final final final cut...awaiting info from sweden as to the colour correction etc...
it has taken just over 12 months including the reshoot and additional shooting in June. I also lost an editor late August September so its been a battle but at the end of the day its those who get to the finish line that win the race...i thank all those who worked on the project for their wonderful energy and contribution plus of course family and friends who have been supporting me through it all...pssst i havent reached the finishing line but i can see it ..it it close now
I look forward to the xmas break and renewal next year... when IMANI is launched finally

Bank holiday kampala

Editing at home means I get to work on IMANI at all times of day and night. A good thing and a bad thing coz it's always there. I sent cuts to Dorothee and jan so fingers crossed plus Alice and lee finally saw the film they had heard about and were impressed . I need the money to get the doubdrack done craig says I can use his name. I continue to visualize sucess for remarkable film but it is a lonely journey right now. Curretly I am between cutting a new trailer and catching up on the eastender omnibus, yes a recent guilty pleasure done it twice over the last year so it ain't that bad.
Congrats to fellow women filmmakers wanuri and hawa.

Dox lab Denmark nov 09

Wow so this is my first blogg. I wanted to share my fantastic experience in Denmark this past week.

For the first time ever the Doc fest called DOX in Denmark ran a lab for filmmakers from all over the world to work on projects with Nordic filmmakers.

My team mate Boris and I managed to find common ground on a film we will shoot in Kampala in 2010.

I just wanna say it was fantastic , thanks to the Dox team , Mette So Metta Ann and all plus the filmmakers that I partied with.. you know who you are :-)
